CHP Group Medical Visits

CHP clinicians recently shifted the group medical visit model virtually.  Clinicians and participants agree. It may be different, but online health care is a benefit, especially to those with transportation issues or concerns with interacting in a physical group setting.

Dr. Lisa Nelson has teamed up with Mary Northey, C-IAYT, Dean of the Kripalu School of Yoga Therapy, to provide their monthly group medical visits online, teaching simple mind-body tools as a way to reduce stress and anxiety. Chronic stress negatively impacts personal health. It is associated with many adverse health conditions, such as high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity, diabetes, chronic pain, anxiety and depression.

According to Dr. Nelson, “Gentle movement and slow breathing has been shown to reduce feelings of ‘fight-or-flight’, lower heart rate and blood pressure, and promote a feeling of calm and relaxation that translates into improved physical and mental health.”
