Mission Moment  — Our community…

“Community” is at the core of the CHP mission. And now more than ever, our relationship with our community is our “mission moment.”

Our mission, “to improve the health of people throughout the Berkshires by delivering exceptional compassionate care”, has been put to the test in recent months with COVID-19.  But we have and will continue to adapt and prevail. We will make sure that not a single one of our neighbors goes without care because CHP believes health care is a human right for everyone.
Period.

To that end, we are increasingly aware that we do care for all people. Community Health Programs was designed, at our very foundation, to care for people regardless of race, gender, status, religion, or ability to pay.

It’s true that HOW we meet our mission each day has dramatically changed in recent months due to COVID-19. But we are succeeding because you continue to entrust us with your health, including your ailments, injuries, and chronic illness and mental health, your babies, your well visits, and your dental hygiene.

At CHP we hold true our mission and our history.  Every life matters and we thank you for entrusting us to care for yours.

Before COVID-19, our Family Services team gave out 5-6 bags of food each week in addition to our monthly food pantry programs. That number has increased tenfold. We are able to keep up with that because of our community: neighbors and businesses who donate food for those bags, and financial gifts to help us support others. Our community helps us to reach those people who may have trouble reaching out.

In this pandemic, the future is uncertain, but we are moving forward with our community. We are walking side by side.
